Basel Landschaft

The Environment and Energy Division (AUE) of the Canton of Baselland is responsible for precautionary protection against lasting damage to the environment caused by external impacts. Various federal laws and ordinances serve as enforcement instruments. The subject areas cover wastewater, groundwater, agricultural water protection, surface water, urban drainage, water accounting, water strategy and water supply. The Environment and Energy Division reports periodically on the state of the environment, the measures taken and the goals achieved. This mandate is fulfilled, together with the Canton of Basel-Stadt, with the environmental report of both Basel.
